2. LUSSO Collection - Mid-priced club -- at $375,000 deposit -- yet stands heads and shoulders above its peers with perks like unlimited nights and free Lincoln Continental sedans at most residences.
3. Ultimate Resort - Entry-level club that graduated into the big-time camp by acquiring ailing Tanner and Halley club's homes. A close match to Private Escapes, though with limited nightly caps.
4. Exclusive Resorts - The largest of the clubs, fronted by former AOL head Steve Case. It would rank higher, but the club has grown so large that it has to buy properties in bulk, making it feel less exclusive.
5. Crescendo Residences - Relatively new club but with a great hook. It is a destination club structured as a REIT, so members have equity-participation in part of the property appreciation.
6. BelleHavens - Belle Havens is an ambitious club with properties in the United States and access to several European getaways.
7. One Key - New concept, similar to fractional jet cards where you prepay 15 or 25 nights at a time. Low upfront investment is a plus, though higher allowances during holidays make it a costly outlet if you plan a lot of peak time travel.
8. Portofino Club - Offers three distinct club categories, including an attractively priced entry-level option.
